Construction is underway on the first warehouse built in accordance with 7R’s new 7R Green eco-concept. The facility is being built on a build-to-suit basis for logistics operator No Limit at the 7R Park Sosnowiec complex in Sosnowiec, Poland. The green solutions incorporated into the project will help minimize No Limit’s environmental impact.
The warehouse space delivered to No Limit will total nearly 5,000 square meters. Developer 7R is also preparing an office for the tenant, located on two floors, with a total area of 430 square meters. The building has been designed in accordance with 7R’s new 7R Green eco-building standards, which the developer introduced at the beginning of this year. The project focuses on the most effective selection of eco-friendly solutions, consistent with the needs of No Limit’s strategy. The facility is scheduled to open in September 2020.
No Limit’s hub in Sosnowiec has historically been one of our key locations in Poland for our operations. As part of the development of our eco-strategy and in line with the company’s principle of “Environmentally-friendly logistics,” we decided to take on the challenge of creating a facility that would meet our operational and business needs, but above all would be a truly green warehouse. By partnering with 7R, we have developed a project powered by solar energy and a building designed to accommodate the installation of infrastructure supporting a fleet of electric vehicles powered by 100% renewable energy sources. This represents a completely new standard for No Limit’s warehouses. We believe this marks another significant step forward in the development of our company’s eco-services.
Mariusz Rączka
Logistics Director at No Limit
The 7R Green concept focuses primarily on the significant energy efficiency of these new warehouses. The No Limit warehouse in Sosnowiec will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources. Thanks to the latest eco-friendly solutions, the building at 7R Park Sosnowiec will be BREEAM certified.
This is both the first BTS warehouse we are building for No Limit and the first 7R Green facility constructed in accordance with the 7R Green standard. The facility will be equipped with a photovoltaic system, which requires the roof structure to be reinforced as part of the installation process. We are also preparing the infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations and an on-site car wash. The building’s facade will be covered with greenery, emphasizing the facility’s ecological values. The entire project will create optimal conditions for our client’s sustainable logistics operations. It will also showcase this new trend that we are introducing to the warehouse and industrial real estate market.
Maciej Krawiecki
Head of Leasing at 7R
From a logistical standpoint, the facility will feature 11 loading docks and 12 courier gates, including a semi-cross-dock solution—that is, loading docks and L-system courier gates. Kwadrat Polska and Atlas Ward are responsible for the architectural design of the building. Atlas Ward is the general contractor for the project.
7R Park Sosnowiec is a complex of three modern Class A facilities in the heart of the Silesian metropolitan area. The facilities are located in Sosnowiec on Innowacyjna Street, just off the S1 expressway and only a few kilometers from the A4 motorway. Another unquestionable advantage of the logistics park is its proximity to the city centers of Sosnowiec and Katowice, as well as Katowice International Airport. Its location within the city’s metropolitan area ensures excellent access via road and public transportation, which in turn makes it an attractive workplace for employees.
