7R will build a technology and manufacturing hub in Nowa Huta

7R, a developer of high-quality warehouses and industrial facilities, will carry out a project within the “Ruszcza” Logistics and Industrial Center in Kraków, which is part of the “Kraków – Nowa Huta of the Future” initiative.

Hub 7R, which will be built in Kraków’s Nowa Huta district, will offer tenants 230,000 square meters of low-carbon technology and manufacturing space meeting the highest standards of the 7R Green Saver line. Hub 7R is one of the components of the multifunctional and city-forming “Kraków – Nowa Huta of the Future” project, which is restoring the former glory of the district’s post-industrial area and aligns with the city’s strategic goals. – Kraków is where 7R originated, which is why we are proud to create a project that will be our contribution to the city’s development. The 7R Hub will be located a short distance from the “Igołomska” and “Bieżanów” interchanges, 13 km from Kraków’s Main Square. Additional advantages of the location include access to the renovated railway facilities, proximity to the A4 highway (connecting Ukraine with Germany), and the S7 expressway, which links Kraków with Warsaw, Gdańsk, and southern Poland. Employees can easily commute here via public transportation and commuter rail.

This will be another facility in Poland built to the standards of the latest 7R line—low-carbon Green Saver buildings, which achieve the highest BREEAM certification rating in continental Europe: Outstanding. Thanks to the solutions implemented, the buildings generate significant energy savings and achieve a minimum 50% reduction in operational CO2 emissions and a 50% reduction in primary energy demand compared to Polish technical standards. This is made possible by the use of high-efficiency air-source heat pumps, a photovoltaic system connected to its own energy storage facility, and advanced lighting controls.

– The project involves revitalizing the site and planting 1,500 new trees, including biocenotic species that promote habitat development. We will use the site’s natural depressions to create rain gardens, which will help store and filter water, thereby improving soil quality and the health of the surrounding vegetation. Rain gardens play a key role in urban ecology—they retain excess rainwater, which, instead of flowing into the sewer system, seeps into the soil, supporting local water resources and natural retention. “Thanks to this solution, we improve the area’s microclimate, support biodiversity, and create conditions conducive to the development of natural habitats for plants, insects, and small animals,” explains Marek Mazur, Development Director at 7R.

A green space called 7Relax will be created near the buildings—a place for employees to relax. The space will be artistically designed according to a project by a student from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, who received an honorable mention in the “Warehouse of Art: Young Art for the Planet” competition.
